†Improvement was defined as the difference between the change from baseline in the WAINUA group and a placebo group from a similar study.

- How was quality of life measured?
Neuropathy progression was studied using the mNIS+7 scale assessed nerve function by measuring things such as:
- Muscle strength (Such as bending and straightening arms and legs)
- Sensation (The feeling in your legs or other extremities)

WAINUA was generally well tolerated in a clinical trial.

WAINUA suppresses the production of the protein that transports vitamin A and, therefore, vitamin A supplementation is recommended.

No additional laboratory monitoring is needed when you take WAINUA.
WAINUA may cause side effects, including:
- Low vitamin A level, which is a serious, but common side effect of treatment with WAINUA. Your doctor should tell you to take vitamin A supplements. Do not take more than the amount of vitamin A your doctor has recommended. Call your doctor if you develop eye problems such as difficulty seeing at night or in low-lit areas (night blindness), or dry eyes. If you develop eye problems, your doctor should refer you to an eye doctor
The most common side effects include decreased vitamin A and vomiting.
These are not all the possible side effects of WAINUA. Talk to your healthcare provider about any side effects you experience.
